Areas of Practice
Business and Commercial Law
We provide a wide variety of services to our business clients
from assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity
under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase
of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations,
and employee relations, to dissolution.
Business Organizations
The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially
affects every aspect of its operations. Our firm assists our clients
in formation and business planning in deciding whether they want
to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company,
partnership, or corporation. We advise our clients about directors`
and officers` liability, dissolution, franchising, reorganization,
trade association membership and activity, joint ventures, mergers,
acquisitions, divestitures, business successions, and shareholders`
rights.
Consumer Protection
We will aggressively challenge businesses and merchants that misrepresent
or fail to deliver promised services to, or otherwise defraud,
their customers.
Contracts
We can draft contracts in virtually all areas of civil law, and
are highly capable at negotiating and drafting contracts; litigating
contract performance disputes; and evaluating the appropriate
remedies for breached contracts.
Criminal Defense
We have experience defending the rights of people arrested and
accused of criminal offenses. We handle misdemeanors and felony
indictments.
Employment Law
Employment law covers a complex network of laws and regulations
that control how employers must treat employees, former employees,
and applicants for employment. We work in areas such as employment
discrimination, violations of civil rights, affirmative action,
sexual harassment, employee benefits, wrongful discharge allegations
and employment contracts.
Estate Planning
Our firm offers a variety of services for people who wish to plan
in advance for the distribution of property upon their death,
including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
Family Law
Our firm handles a full range of Family Law matters, including
adoption, premarital agreements, contested and uncontested divorce,
legal separation, establishment and modification of child support,
establishment and modification of child custody and visitation,
cohabitation and domestic partnership documents, and paternity.
Medical Malpractice
We offer representation in cases involving injuries resulting
from improper care and treatment of patients by health care providers,
including doctors, dentists, nurses, and paraprofessionals.
Personal Injury
We will represent people who have been injured by someone else,
such as wrongful deaths, all types of motor vehicle accidents,
medical malpractice, defective products, and all other negligent
and intentional misconduct. We assist our clients in receiving
the maximum possible compensation for their injuries, lost wages,
and other damages.
Probate & Estate Administration
We handle probate and estate administration. Probate is the legal
process by which a will is proved to be valid and decedents' debts
are paid and assets distributed after they die. Estate administration
includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers
of the deceased's assets, and generally includes collecting all
of the decedent's assets, liquidating his or her liabilities,
paying necessary taxes (if any), and distributing property to
heirs. State laws direct the probate court how to distribute the
deceased's estate, so it is important to consult a firm for representation
in this area of the law.
Products Liability
We offer represenation to individuals who have been injured as
the result of a product that was designed, manufactured, sold,
and/or furnished in an unsafe manner, including: asbestos; clothing;
alcoholic beverages; firearms; food and agricultural products;
machinery and tools; medical products and devices; motor vehicles;
recreational products; and tobacco.
Real Estate Law
We will represent both commercial clients and individuals in all
proceedings and transactions that deal with real property-land
and the structures attached to it-including purchase and sale
agreements, construction, mortgages, foreclosures, leases, zoning,
title examinations, quiet title actions, closings, and property
management.
